What did the world of our ancestors sound like, and how might we reconstruct those sounds today? Participants will craft soundscapes of past and present Asian diasporic spaces or memories, using found, researched, and collected sounds.
Participants should bring a laptop, headphones, and a phone with audio recording capabilities. Optional: audio recorder (example) and microphone(s). If you do not have access to a laptop, headphones, and a phone with audio recording capabilities and wish to participate, please contact info@culturehub.org.
This workshop is a part of Jeffrey Yoo Warren and Ann Chen’s CultureHub residency “Community Memory Enclaves.” To participate in this and other workshops related to their residency, sign up using the google form linked above. This workshop will be hosted in-person at the CultureHub studio in NYC. Participants should be prepared to go on a walk in NYC during the workshop
