Carrie Chen is an artist based in LA. She works with CG, simulation and installation to explore ideas about hybridity, representation, time and memory. Chen has exhibited and held talks internationally. She recently received the STRP Award for Creative Technology and will be the 2024 Emerging Curator at LACE. She holds an MFA from UCLA and currently teaches at USC Media Arts + Practice.
“Eye Exercise 眼保健操 is an evolving multimedia series including video, CG, installation and workshops. Developed initially at XVirtual (X Museum Beijing), the series investigates collective experiences of institutional routine, boundaries between care/control, and childhood fantasy. At CultureHub, I plan on integrating interactivity to further explore its narrative and conceptual possibilities.”
